Windows 7 was never on this laptop, purchased it with vista on it 3. Did you purchase Win8 or..? yes
4. Were you running Win8 or Win8.1 when you upgraded to Win10? I am pretty sure 8.1 when I went to win 10
5. When (approx. date) did you upgrade to Win10? the first month it came out 6. Did you choose to upgrade to Win10 manually or was the upgrade offered AND INSTALLED via Windows Update? upgrade was offered and installed via windows update << After upgrading my Dell Inspiron 1420 to Windows 10, I have never had audio come out on the laptop speakers.>> 7, Were the speakers working before you upgraded from Win8 to Win10? yes 8. Keep in mind this is a laptop and simply exchanging a sound card isn't an option either
